The review
Last full inspection and audit: Passed August 2024
Hyatt Place has an interesting back story worth knowing. Originally built to house British Airways crew before being opened to the public, it was the first property developed by Surinder Arora and the founding hotel of what became the Arora Group. It has since changed ownership and now operates as a Hyatt Place. That heritage shows in how the hotel is set up, with a layout that works well for people who keep irregular hours. The runway views from south-facing rooms overlooking 27R are genuinely good, making it a regular choice for aviation enthusiasts and pilots as well as business travellers. A proper 4-star property without the price tag of the Sofitel.
The Hyatt Place London Heathrow Airport is centrally located on the A4 Bath Road, just a mile from Terminals 2, 3 and 5. It is easily accessible by local buses including the 105, 111 and 423, or by taxi, with convenient road links via the M4 and M25.
The hotel opened in 1999 and has 341 rooms, a 24-hour gym, meeting rooms, a restaurant, bar and 24-hour room service.
Rates typically range from £80 to £105 per night for two guests, though as with all Heathrow hotels, prices can be significantly higher during busy periods. The hotel often sells out completely, so early booking is recommended.
Meetings and events
The hotel has 14 meeting rooms for groups of 12 to 100 guests. The Blue Sky Suite on the 6th floor was originally a boardroom. It has panoramic views of the airport, triple-glazed windows and plenty of daylight. It is used for meetings, training sessions or private dining, has a private lobby and breakout area and holds up to 40 guests.
Fitness facilities
The gym is in the hotel basement, free to guests and open 24 hours. It has treadmills, cross-trainers, a Concept 2 rowing machine and a Peloton bike as well as free weights. There is also a mapped 5km running route which avoids the major roads.
