The review

The Leonardo is a four star chain hotel that sits closer to three star in practice. The lobby bar is fine for a drink and the restaurant does standard hotel food. It is clean, functional and runs smoothly, but does not offer the polish the rating suggests. If you have stayed at a Leonardo elsewhere in the UK, you will recognise the formula: predictable, no surprises, no real personality. Book it for a practical night before a flight, rather than for a property you want to spend time in.

Located near the middle of the Bath Road, under ten minutes drive from Terminals 2 and 3.

The Leonardo is a mid-scale hotel offering 230 rooms, a bar, restaurant and meeting rooms. Its proximity to the airport and good soundproofing make it a practical choice for overnight stays and short stays. Note that access is at the rear of the property, which is well signposted but needs to be as it can be confusing.

Standard rooms usually range from £120 to £145 per night. Lower rates may be available with advance booking or through partner promotions.

Who is this hotel best for?

  • Business travellers here for one night, solo flyers and couples who want a quiet room and predictable chain standards.
  • Small business meetings.
  • Anyone who just needs to sleep, shower and leave in the morning.
  • Not suited to families who want space, travellers who plan to spend time at the hotel, or anyone who wants a property with real character.

Summary

A reliable Heathrow hotel offering convenient access to the airport. Best suited for travellers looking for basic comfort over luxury.

Worth knowing

Check in and out

Check in from 15:00. Check out by 11:00.

Skip the Hotel Hoppa

We do not recommend third-party Hotel Hoppa buses, they make multiple stops at other hotels and take longer. The local buses on Bath Road are quicker and cheaper.

A very small gym

The fitness facilities are two very small rooms, one for cardio and one for weights. If there were one other guest in there you might not feel comfortable.

The detail

Rates are high for what it is and there are better value hotels nearby. Parking is £15 a night and cannot be reserved in advance. Standard rooms do not have fridges. Access is at the rear of the property, well signposted but easy to get confused by. No pets, other than assistance dogs.

Food and drink voucher

May offer a 20% F&B voucher (one time use).
